Get dressed! Brush your teeth! Eat breakfast! Have you brushed your teeth yet? That doesn’t match. Fix your hair. You still haven’t brushed your teeth? It sounds like a record that is stuck and keeps repeating the same things over and over….and over every morning. Not a very super start to the day. My highly intelligent, awesome children can never seem to remember that every morning they actually need to put on clothes. Or better yet, clothes that they can wear in public. I’m all for kids developing their own sense of style, but….. there are limits to what I can handle. So we have turned the instructing over to the superheroes. This superhero morning routine is a fun printable that my kids are using to keep them on track with their morning tasks instead of the mom-record. Because sometimes, it’s easier to let a piece of paper tell them what to do, than repeating it over and over…
This superhero morning routine goes great with the superhero mouthwash and light saber toothbrush that we got from our sponsors Reach® and Firefly®.
My girls are highly inspired by all things superhero and are more than slightly obsessed with Star Wars evidenced by the fact that they were just talking to each other in the driveway with character pseudonyms that all of them completely understood.
As part of the Firefly Star Wars Collection, the Kylo Ren Lightsaber toothbrush lights up for 60 seconds, teaching kids to brush for one full minute on each row of teeth which I totally love because then I don’t have to ask if they brushed long enough.
The new Firefly Spiderman Fun Pump Rinse, also found at Walmart, comes with a convenient no-mess cup to ensure kids dispense the perfect amount of rinse. So I don’t have to deal with kids spilling rinse all over the sink or floor or down the walls… (Must teach these children to clean up after themselves… after solving world hunger…)
One of my daughters really craves routine, but she is much like me “out of sight, out of mind.” So when she gets her head buried in a new comic or book, she can forget even the simplest things like getting dressed.
Her preferred morning routine would be something like: Get food, read. And the reading step would never end.
While her love for reading is admirable, stinky teeth are not admirable.
In fact they are pretty gross!
She actually jumped for joy when I gave her this printable to hang on her wall. Really, like actual feet off the ground jumping.
I think she’s excited that her teeth will be clean…
The kids have really been enjoying their new lightsaber toothbrush and Spiderman mouth wash.
And I have been enjoying their fresh breath.
A much more super way to start the day.
